Description:

Victor “M” Phonograph

The Victor “M” was first introduced in 1901 as a top-of-the-line, high-performance model, and was sold brand new for $35.00, which is equivalent to approximately $1,250.00 in today’s currency. It boasted a large 10″ turntable and a powerful 2-spring motor, which placed its performance well above the other early products in the 1901 Victor lineup. The cabinet of this model was crafted from quarter-sawn oak, adding to its overall elegance and durability. However, in 1905, the “M” nomenclature was completely phased out, and the taper-arm design became the standard, resulting in this model being rebranded as the Victor III. This particular Victor “M” has undergone professional restoration, ensuring that it can still play and maintain its original appearance from over a century ago. It also possesses the original Dealer Tag, which originates from “The Eastern Talking Machine Company- Boston, Mass”. The motor of this machine operates quietly and smoothly, while the rebuilt reproducer produces fantastic sound quality. Additionally, this model includes the original Victor black petal horn, further enhancing its authenticity and value. Overall, this machine is considered to be an exceptional piece and would make a splendid addition to any home or collection.
