The Victor “M,” launched in 1901, was a top-tier, high-performance model that originally retailed for $35.00, which is roughly equivalent to $1,250.00 today. It boasted a large 10-inch turntable and a powerful 2-spring motor, outperforming other Victor models released that year. Crafted from quarter-sawn oak, the cabinet added both elegance and durability. By 1905, the “M” designation was phased out, and the taper-arm design became the norm, resulting in the model being rebranded as the Victor III. The Victor “M” presented here has undergone professional restoration, allowing it to function and appear as it did over a century ago. It still features the original Dealer Tag from “The Eastern Talking Machine Company- Boston, Mass.” The motor operates quietly and efficiently, while the rebuilt reproducer provides outstanding sound quality. Additionally, this model includes the original Victor black petal horn, enhancing its authenticity and collectible appeal. As a remarkable piece of history, it would make a splendid addition to any collection or home. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
