The “DX” signifies the pinnacle of the Amberola “X” series by Edison—a phonograph of exceptional rarity. Only produced for a brief period of six months in 1914, it stands as the last belt-driven model in the Amberola lineup and the sole variant to feature the quieter fireside motor, a departure from the noisier GEM motor of its predecessors. This phonograph is a breathtaking, all-original exemplar of this scarce and coveted model. It boasts a splendid case finish, a motor in outstanding condition, and an upper bedplate. The original pinstriping and grill cloth only add to its charm. Finding a more immaculate example on the market would be unlikely.
