Description:

“Edison Home Repeater Phonograph with Horn”… RARE Machine.

What an impressive machine with a stunning appearance! This device has been meticulously restored to its original condition! Every component has been examined and returned to its original specifications, if not improved! The motor, upper works, reproducer, and case have all been thoroughly checked, along with the ‘D’ model repeater, and everything functions excellently. A phonograph equipped with the repeater attachment is a rare treasure and seldom appears on the market. The repeater mechanism was created by Edward Aiken in June 1904. (That was one hundred and twenty-one years ago.) His invention received a U.S. Patent for the ‘Repeating Attachment for Phonographs.’ To clarify the function of the repeater, once the cylinder has played completely, it lifts off the record, advances back to the start of the cylinder, and begins again. It comes with a reproduction brass 14″ horn. Additionally, this machine has been upgraded with the 2-minute to 4-minute combination conversion kit introduced in late 1909, allowing it to play both types of Edison cylinders. Mechanically, it has been restored as thoroughly as possible to return it to its original playing condition. Both the motor and upper works have been completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, lubricated, and adjusted. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
