The item highlighted is the rare BH model, also known as the “Champion.” This model is equipped with the standard Columbia single spring motor and is often classified as a “transitional” machine. The BH model is particularly uncommon, having been manufactured for only about a year in 1906. Its design closely resembles the third style front-mount AJ, but in a larger size, featuring similar trim and corner columns. Production of this model was limited, and examples can be found both with and without the brass handle. The unit showcased here boasts an intricately engraved 11-inch support arm and a notably rare 18-inch “Columbia” cut-out support arm. It is fitted with the Columbia reproducer and a substantial black/brass horn. This specific phonograph has been fully restored and is ready to provide enjoyment for many years to come. It would make an outstanding addition to any collection or serve as a striking display piece.
