Launched in 1909, the Fireside was designed as a more budget-friendly option compared to the Edison Standard, although both models were available for purchase simultaneously. It featured the motor from the Edison Standard, combined with slightly altered and more compact upper works that included two-four gearing. The Fireside came in two versions: the “A” model, which could play both 2- and 4-minute cylinder records when fitted with the appropriate “K” reproducer, and the “B” model, which was restricted to 4-minute cylinders using the “H” Four-minute reproducer. This “A” model, equipped with the correct “K” reproducer, has been fully mechanically restored, along with updates to the case and upper works. It performs as beautifully as it looks! The machine also includes a reproduction 14-inch black and brass horn, along with the lid and crank. This would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
